5 HOMES I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW

1.08.2014

I've got something of a surplus of homes I'm really inspired by right now, so here they all are in a handy-dandy list(icle?). First up is Moon and Hey's new Brooklyn apartment on An Afternoon With (although really just Moon because he's gorgeous and I'm dying).

Also really into the super clean lines, graphic art and chairs in this space, photographed by Line Klein.

This wintry home from the November 2007 issue of domino, shot by Paul Costello, is making me rethink dark walls. And that comforter is bone-inducing.

Perennial favorite Brian Ferry shot designer Lena Corwin's Fort Greene townhouse for Remodelista. Her master bedroom is giving me life.

Last but not least, I was happy to find Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg's L.A. abode, shot by Ye Rin Mok for Apartamento, make its way onto the photographer's blog. It's my second favorite shoot from the latest issue, right after the feature on Atsuki Kikuchi's Tokyo residence.

MICHAEL ALLEN AT HOME

11.01.2013

I'm loving the sleepy Wabi-sabi elegance of fellow #BrooklynHipsterGay Michael Allen's Williamsburg loft. I found it on FvF, of course, while looking for some inspiration for my bedroom. That lil' project is coming along nicely, for the record, but the big fat makeover I mentioned on practically day one of moving in still has no definite end in sight. That being said, I think I can 100% promise a reveal by the end of the year, how does that sound? And until then, Instagram updates and a weekly think piece about stacks of magazines and decorative planters.

I was going to say Allen's place reminds me a bit of Brian Ferry's, and then I scrolled to the bottom of the article and realized that that's at least partly because Ferry shot this. Small world. Basically, Brian Ferry is sick talented and I die. (Can we just pause for a second and just talk about how stunning that picture of the little tree in the planter next to the clock is? It like...moves me.) Also really love those hooks for displaying jeans...

Brian Ferry's Brooklyn apartment on Sight Unseen, a totally awesome new-to-me website that you should check out. That mantle is so wabi-sabi...the living room so inviting...the bedroom so clean! And this is a boy's house, you guys.

DEAR INTERNET No. 30

12.22.2012

I know I promised to depart with a vacation-centric playlist, but it occurred to me that it's been a really long time since I did a link round-up and what better parting gift from me to you than some link love? Enjoy these and I'll blog ya in a week! I'm not going completely off the grid, though - check in with me over the week on Twitter and Instagram.
