Yesterday was my mother's birthday. We celebrated with a two anda half hour meal at which I gave up being veg for a local pork chop (oops). We discussed the hilarity (and horror) of Mitt Romney's presidential candidacy and I urged my parents to move to France, not just because I'm a leftist liberal homogay propagandist, but also I hear the cost of living's not too high. I felt particularly grateful for a family - nuclear, at least - that shares my political views. And I don't know if it's kosher to declare on the interwebs what I gifted my mom, but I gave her Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle - and FYI, if you ever get a gift from me it'll also be that book, because it's the best thing ever. These are some pictures I quite like from one Halloween when I was in middle school. Joke! I was in kindergarten here. I think we were both excited I was partaking in the costume parade that immediately followed these shots. #goodtimes
Happy Birthday, mom!
