DEAR INTERNET No. 31

1.27.2013

It's been awhile since I did a Dear Internet post and an even longer time since I did one this way, as a giant list instead of an infographic-y thing. I feel like this is easier for people to digest, maybe? Ah, well, let me know in the comments if you have a preference!

First up, these are some of my favorite street style shots from the menswear shows, by Tommy and Nam. The Japanese guys are like, impossibly good at layering, of course, David Gandy looks like a modern Dick Tracy in his three-piece suit in muted tones (with a fedora!) and that guy with the bike...how perfect!

Some more of what I'm loving...these rooms I found on Pinterest - a great mix of modern furniture and art (top two photos) and different ways to have books on display (bottom two.)

This outdoor wedding shot by Kate, entirely on film. The gorgeous California setting, the succulents as centerpieces and the strings of lights in the air...love it!

Speaking of weddings, Diana is getting married and did a post on cakes and long story short, look how cute this carrot cake is:

This stir-fried broccoli with pesto looks delicious...I never would've thought to stir-fry with pesto!

The Honey & Bloom Etsy shop has adorable things, like totebags and stationery.

Monica Ramos has the coolest prints for sale on her Etsy shop, but if you aren't in a shopping mood, check out her Tumblr.

You should drop by Leah's blog A Future Present. Aside from cute cat pictures, she also takes pictures of her cute Brooklyn apartment...it's pretty cute.

Annnd that's a wrap. Hopefully some of these will be new to you and you'll enjoy them as much as I do. Happy (lazy) Sunday!

EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL

2.19.2012

My friend and I were talking about SEO the other week and how much what you title your posts matters. I, personally, like my artsy-fartsy-er titles, such as this one. It makes sense because I love so many elements of these outfits...everything but the girl! Oh, vomit. That was terrible! Who let me type that? Well, hopefully you can see past that joke and enjoy this Tumblr-esque post celebrating my continuing lust for neutrals, muted jewel tones, layers, black and white and beanies, beanies, beanies. My favorite part of fashion week is quickly becoming the overwhelming swirl of behind-the-scenes and on-the-street action, though I do have a post or two about the collections coming your way...

P.S. Opening Ceremony featured the runway soundtracks for some of their favorite shows on their blog and I am totally in love with Calla's mix - check it out below! Its also available for download, natch.

DEAR INTERNET No. 15

1.13.2012

Found this week...inspiration for my next haircut. (Happening today!)
I'm leaning towards something Crangi/Wooster-esque...

I started getting my subscription to House Beautiful! I managed to find a few images online from their December/January issue, which featured the gorgeous home of decorator Mark D. Sikes. The glamour of high-contrast black and white is a look I strove to achieve in my apartment by painting the French doors a glossy black, but I think the effect is more easily appreciated in Sikes' person-sized home. Want more? Check out his incredible bathroom over at The City Sage.

I bought a new hat the other day from OAK's 304050 sale. It's a green fedora. #jauntygoodness
Something I didn't pick up was this pair of Mark McNairy boots from the Très Bien sale. #dying

Assorted wintry inspirations...thinking of my post from the other week! By Nam & Tommy Ton.

And while this is definite cheesy pre-Valentine's day marketing goop, I thought this picture from Scott & Garance's new Tiffany campaign was rather endearing. I think being able to sit around reading and drinking coffee with someone is the ultimate in intimacy...who knows, these mugs could stand for Sean and Gay Boyfriend? Maybe?  #never

Happy weekend!

DEAR INTERNET, XOXO FRUITPUNCH

8.05.2011

Things I found that made me happy this week...

1) David Thielebeule looking perfect for Eye Fly by Tommy Ton.
2) I love leopard right now...it is for men this season what python is for women (whatever that means)...and this collar from Eleven Objects is the best way to wear it I've seen.
3) This office...so beautiful! I love looking at people's work spaces and recently discovered Where They Create by Paul Barbera.
4) Le Portillon...c'est bon, no? The Another Reader featured blogger is one of a few I've recently discovered whose posts have a "Sofia Coppola's teenage journal/moodboard" vibe. If you like, also check out Miss Little Lime and La Mignonette.
5) Do you know Róisín Murphy? I hate to say she only recently came onto my radar...I love her second album, but I've found that live versions of Sow Into You from her first are truly awesome as well.
