SUNO X BEN GILES

10.10.2012

I was waiting for the women's collections to end before posting anything about them, but what do you know - one of my favorites was Suno, and they showed about a month ago! I'm obsessed with the sophisticated silhouettes of their sportswear-inflected separates (alliteration), not to mention their as-always delectable patterns and prints (that mobile phone dress! ah!) Runway images via Vogue.comfloral collage by Ben Giles, also available as an iPhone case!

Other fashion month favorites?
Dries Van Noten - cerebral chic
Balenciaga - forever and always
Dolce & Gabbana  - because it'll complement your Prada SS'11 collection pieces
Chalayan  - when Cèline isn't minimal enough
Creatures of the Wind - Kawakubo for Beginners (in a good way!)

ASSEMBLY X SANTIAGO SALVADOR

9.14.2012

This is one of my favorite looks from the past week, courtesy of Assembly. The hair! The high waist! The sleeves, the collar, the voluminous pants! So good. Even better over illustrator Santiago Salvador's work. Check the blog a lil' later for more of my favorite looks from this round of shows...and check out my other illustration/fashion mash-ups here and here, while you're at it!

THE SPRING 2013 REVIEW

7.02.2012

I posted Marc Jacob's Spring/Summer '13 collection lookbook last week, but there are of course more wonderful designer duds to share and this season I've thunk up a new (and hopefully fun and interesting) way to show y'all some of my favorite looks. I always love a captivating magazine cover, so I took a smattering of ensembles from a few different collections and put them on top of vintage Paris Review covers I found via Pinterest...then I employed the handy-dandy poster edges filter (I'll get fancier someday) et voilá! I present to you my spring 2013 review...
